The ambitious aim of the Contrapos consortium is to let Europe Know the extra vergine olive oil, outcome of an unequalled and special land. The consortium is a modern organization oriented to efficiency, which is the drive behind the development and the promotion of a good-quality product, exclusive result of olives that are picked and masterly treated in Salento.
The engagement of the consortium is born from the consciousness that olive growing has always held a leading role in the economy of the Salento. The oil tradition of this land comes in fact from the old agricultural vocation of a fertile soil. Since olive trees spread in the Mediterranean basin from the Far East in the VII century b. C., every civilization of which the Salento had been a hospitable crossroad improved the natural qualities of its plains.
Ideal climatic and morphological conditions have worked together to make these millenary trees characteristic, symbol of an entire geographic area but also of the warmth of men who have always taken care of them, turning masterly their harvest into unequalled oil.
Today the olive oil of the Salento is the result of the combination between the new production techniques and the healthiest customs of the past; it is a genuine product rich of perfumes and tastes of this land.
